The Victorian Jazz Archive, which holds one of the largest collections of jazz history and research material in Australia, has been appointed to Public Record Office Victoria’s Places of Deposit network.

Minister for the Arts, Hon. Heidi Victoria, said the appointment highlights the Archive’s role as keeper of important items that preserve, promote and celebrate the history of jazz in Australia. ‘It’s an important place for musicals, music students, researchers and the general public, and I congratulate everyone involved in the Archive on this appointment, which recognises the important role it plays as a gatekeeper of Victoria’s history,’ she said.
