Jacki Weaver bows out of MTC show

Melbourne Theatre Company has announced Jacki Weaver is withdrawing from Solomon and Marion, with Gillian Jones stepping in.

Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC) today revealed that international star Jacki Weaver has withdrawn from its July production of Solomon and Marion.

ArtsHub reported in January that the production was to be Weaver’s only 2013 stage role. Whilst Weaver yesterday missed out on an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Silver Linings Playbook, Australians now miss out on their chance to see Weaver tread the boards locally.
