Didem Caia is a Melbourne based emerging playwright, theatre maker and speaker.

She has recently written arts leadership papers for ausplays.org and currency house press. ​One of her latest works, Unconscious premiered at blindside gallery as part of Verge Festival. Her next collaborative piece, The Polytics of Voice, will premier at the Crack Theatre Festival and the NYWTF ​this month. â€‹

In 2014 and 2015 she received an Australia Council grant that allowed her to travel to the UK and US, where she wrote Vile and Lovers and other strangers.

She has also had short fiction works published in Voiceworks, Catalyst, Express Media, Yen, Meanjin and Womankind. In 2015 she was a 2015 emerging cultural leader at ​Footscray Community Arts Centre and in 2016 she was the recipient of Currency House’s Cultural Leadership Mentorship.
