Equity takes piracy fight to Canberra

Australia is a world leader when it comes to illegal downloads of film and TV, but such habits risk actors' livelihoods.

A delegation of actors and producers met with politicians from both sides of parliament this week to discuss the impact of piracy on the Australian film and television industry.

Actors Equity representatives – president Simon Burke, acting director Zoe Angus, and actors Marta Dusseldorp, Matt Day and Tina Bursill – were joined by representatives from Foxtel, SPA, Matchbox, Goal Post Pictures and Taylor Media in Canberra on Monday and Tuesday.
