Renowned Chinese contemporary artist and curator Cai Guo-Qiang will stage his first Australian solo exhibition at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) this November.

Cai has created an exclusive commission for the gallery, which will feature 99 life-sized animals from around the world gathered together at a watering hole. The piece, entitled Heritage, is said to have been inspired by the artist’s visit to Stradbroke Island. Also featured is Head On 2006, a piece featuring 99 life-sized wolves leaping trough the air and crashing into a glass wall that was commissioned by Deutsche Bank Collection and has been since loaned to GOMA.
