Taking the template from the Camperdown Cruise Rockabilly Festival that has been the hit of Western Victoria for the last five years, Rockabilly King Arthur Matsakos now rolls out the format to Central Victoria for three days of jive at the first Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival from February 15 to 17.

Local, interstate and international acts form an endless line-up of quiffs and combs in a rockabilly heaven of guitars, cars, cat clothes and collectibles. Non-stop music is just part of the wholly immersive experience that brings the 50s back with a whack of classic cars and hot rod displays, illustration artists and trade stalls selling rockabilly fashions, music, magazines and all those bits of trinkets that make all the difference to a set of threads. Adding to the extravagance of entertainment are retro dance classes, fashion parades and a rockabilly burlesque show, all there on Facebook to keep you posted.
