Australian gallery among world’s most visited

Steadily increasing visitor numbers, peaking last year at 2.6 million, have resulted in an appearance in the global Top 20 list.

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) was the 19th most popular gallery in the world in 2016 according to the latest global survey of art museum attendance conducted by the UK’s The Art Newspaper.
