The first of the biennial Arts Queensland Regional Arts and Culture Awards was in 2011, making the upcoming awards the second to recognise and promote the achievements of individuals and organisations who have contributed to the arts and the cultural lives of their local communities. For the 2013 awards, these achievements must have occurred between March 31 2011 and March 31 2013. The awards define regional Queensland as any place outside of Brisbane City Council boundaries.
