As a result of Arts minister Simon Crean’s Mitchell Review into arts philanthropy and sponsorship conducted it has been announced that a new institution will be created to enhance promotions for philanthropy, sponsorship and business support for the arts.

The new association will be a merger between the Australian Business Arts Foundation (ABaF) and the Artsupport Australia program in order to offer a sole body “to drive private giving” as suggested by Mitchell after a review of support given by both the private sector and the Australia Council.
