2014 National Photographic Portrait Prize winner announced

Selected from among more than 1400 entries, Sydney photographer Andrew Cowen has won the National Photographic Portrait Prize for 2014. His portrait of cartoonist, Matthew Martin, was announced as the winning image, earning the photographer $25,000 for his work.

Newly elected Director of the National Portrait Gallery, Angus Trumble, announced that the Gallery was thrilled to award Cowen the prize for the most outstanding photographic portrait of the year.
