Staffing issues signal overdue reform

ArtsHub spoke with arts workers and peak industry body to uncover what can be learnt and done with staffing shortages exacerbated by Omicron.

Arts organisations have been left on their own while trying to deliver their biggest summer programs in two years among staff shortages and COVID complicated cancellations once again.

Recently we have already seen ACMI and HOTA cut back on programming, while events such as the Perth Festival are winding back major public events to help reduce exposure to audiences, staff and volunteers.
