Exit interview: Brett Sheehy, MTC

After nine years as Melbourne Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Sheehy has stepped down from the role. What next?

In his final days at the Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC), outgoing Artistic Director Brett Sheehy has had a lot to think about.

In addition to finalising the handover of his role with incumbent AD Anne Louise Sarks, Sheehy was preparing for the launch of the company’s 2022 season when he spoke with ArtsHub last week – and of course, given the pandemic, the complexities of vaccination were also very much on his mind.
