Are you likeable?

Being likeable is one of the key parts of interview success and can be vital in ensuring that your interviewer wants to employ you.

You might not like the workplace to be yet another one of life’s popularity contests, but the unfortunate reality is that the more likeable you are, the more likely you are to succeed. But never fear – your likeability isn’t out of your control.

An NFI Research study of senior executives and managers from a variety in industries, reported in September 2006, found that of these 63 per cent of employers rely on a candidates likeability, 73 per cent hire based on a ‘likelihood to fit in’ and 62 per cent rank skills second to likeability.
