Penrith Performing & Visual Arts Ltd
Head of Operations and Business Development
Penrith Performing & Visual Arts seeks a Head of Operations and Business Development to lead venue operations, grow revenue and drive cultural impact.
Penrith Performing and Visual Arts is one of the most ambitious cultural organisations in New South Wales. Four entities, one organisation: The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Q Theatre, Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery and the Penrith Conservatorium. All in one of the fastest-growing parts of the country.
We are looking for a Head of Operations and Business Development who can run it. Someone who understands that in the arts, operations is what makes the art possible: it’s how a show gets bumped in safely, how a hirer becomes a repeat client, and how a Western Sydney organisation builds the infrastructure to match its ambition.
You will lead venue operations, production and technical delivery across The Joan, home to Q Theatre and the Penrith Conservatorium, and Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery. You will manage and develop a team including your Facilities, Technical and Presenter Services Managers, work closely with the CEO and Artistic Director on strategic and budget priorities, and take direct accountability for growing our venue hire and earned revenue performance. You will be supported by an organisation with a healthy balance sheet and the appetite to back operational excellence.
If you have been waiting for an operations role with range, scale and real accountability, this is it. We are 50km west of where most of Sydney thinks culture lives. We want to challenge that expectation, and we need someone who can make sure the doors open, the lights come up, and the show goes on, every time.
