Executive Director, Audiences
Grow audiences. Deepen engagement. Lead what comes next at QPAC.
Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is entering a significant period of growth and opportunity. With the opening of the new 1,500-seat Glasshouse Theatre, QPAC is now Australia’s largest performing arts centre under one roof, expanding its capacity to welcome hundreds of thousands more visitors each year and creating new possibilities for artists, audiences and communities.
QPAC is seeking an outstanding Executive Director – Audiences to join its Executive Leadership Team and lead an integrated portfolio spanning audience development, marketing and communications, digital engagement, CRM and customer intelligence, ticketing and QTIX commercial performance. At its heart, the mandate is to grow participation and visitation, deepen audience relationships, enhance the customer experience and strengthen QPAC’s commercial performance.
This is a role for a strategic, commercially astute and audience-centred executive who understands how contemporary audiences behave and how data, technology, brand, content and customer experience can work together to drive growth. A major focus will be translating audience research, patron feedback, sales data and market intelligence into actionable insight – informing programming, pricing, campaign strategy, customer experience and organisational decision-making.
The Executive Director will also provide strategic leadership of QTIX, QPAC’s ticketing business, driving commercial growth, operational performance and technology transformation while strengthening its position as a national performing arts ticketing and marketing agency.
Candidates may come from the performing arts, cultural, entertainment, tourism, major events or another sophisticated, high-volume customer-facing environment. They will bring senior leadership experience, strong commercial and financial acumen, contemporary digital and customer capability, and the ability to lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams and build influential relationships across industry, government and the wider community.
This is an exceptional opportunity to influence how audiences discover, experience and connect with live performance at a defining moment for QPAC, Brisbane and Queensland.
