Why do creatives do what they do? Recently we spoke to Australian filmmakers on an audacious quest to make an action film for $30,000. We were also lucky enough to have time with the veteran photojournalist Lorrie Graham, who has been capturing the world around her for five decades, as well as some of the artists who’ve come through the Art for Takayna residency in Tasmania, and who are now using their art to push for environmental action.
PICA also offers Quick Response Residencies, for those needing space for one to four weeks, as well Hyper Local Residencies, which are extended five-month residencies for mid-career Boorloo/Perth-based artists developing larger long-term projects.
