NORPA is seeking an exceptional Executive Director to jointly lead one of Australia’s most outstanding performing arts companies into its next chapter.

For 33 years, NORPA has made, produced and presented courageous theatre with and for the Northern Rivers from our base in Lismore. We now seek to appoint an Executive Director & Co-CEO to shape our next chapter.

The 2022 floods left NORPA without a home. We chose not simply to recover, but to reimagine what we could become.   An inspiration of that reimagining is The Joinery, NORPA’s new permanent home base in Lismore. Backed by recent grant funding, The Joinery is the foundation of a creative precinct that will bring theatre-making, artist development, live music, events and community life together in one place.

Working as Co-CEO alongside Artistic Director Julian Louis, and reporting to the Board, the Executive Director will share responsibility for NORPA’s strategy, financial performance and artistic program. They will lead the development of The Joinery, build new income streams and partnerships, and position NORPA as an active contributor to the region’s recovery and civic life.

We are looking for an experienced leader who understands the role cultural organisations play in regional centres. They will be commercially minded, financially astute and a collaborative partner, ready to turn hard-won momentum into lasting sustainability.
