Director - Development

QSO is seeking a Director - Development to join its Senior Leadership Team.
The Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the Director – Development is responsible for leading the Corporate and Touring Partnerships, fundraising through Philanthropy, Trusts, Foundations and Government Grants as well as QSO hosted functions and events for supporter engagement.
This role is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, taking responsibility in supporting QSO’s overall vision, programs, developing multi-year strategies, detailed operational plans to increase supporter engagement and achievement of sustainable revenue growth.
Key Result Areas include:
Strategy and Planning:
- Develop multi-year strategies and revenue targets alongside the CEO and Board.
- Take full accountability for developing and achieving revenue targets across the portfolio
- Implement activities through operational plans
- Report on portfolio progress to all stakeholders
Lead Philanthropy, Trusts, Foundations, Corporate Partnerships and Grants:
- Retain and grow existing Donor and Corporate partnership relationships
- Lead QSO’s fundraising, grants and reporting
Team Leadership:
- Responsible for developing and monitoring KPI’s, goals and clear accountabilities for all team members.
- Ensure all external partners and stakeholders are managed effectively
Touring, Functions and Events:
- Maintain and develop QSO’s regional touring strategy and relationships
- Lead QSO’s events and functions to engage supporters, and VIP’s
- Represent QSO at third-party events, liaise with development and fundraising peers across Queensland, Australia and Internationally
About You:
Essential Criteria for this role:
- Proven track record of success in implementing a multi-year fundraising strategy
- Proven record in achieving growth targets across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundation and government funding
- Exceptional relationship management skills across various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated team leadership and organisational skills.
- Performing Arts experience is ideal but not for profit or related sectors will also be considered.
- A high degree of interest and passion for the performing arts is a must
- Exceptional ethical standards and integrity.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in business, communications, arts management (or similar)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
