Bookkeeper (Casual)
Leading Physical Theatre and Aerial Performance Company Legs On The Wall are seeking a Bookkeeper on a casual basis.
This Casual Bookkeeper role offers an absolute minimum of four hours on a fortnightly basis, with additional hours anticipated, and based on the level of production activity or administrative deadlines the Company is working on. The ideal candidate will hold applicable experience outlined below, have strong attention to detail and the capacity to work flexibly to meet a variable workload. A capacity to work in person with the Legs team on an occasional to regular basis will be valued, however, candidates seeking to work mostly from home are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and Artistic Director and work closely with a small team of permanent staff and Legs’ external Financial Advisor.
Selection Criteria
Required Experience and Skills:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or other relevant qualifications and training in accounting practices
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with MYOB
Desirable:
- Experience working in the performing arts industry or wider arts sector in Australia and/or not-for-profit organisations
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing of Payroll, Superannuation and Payments on a fortnightly basis
- Preparation and Submission of Business Activity Statements as required
- Reconciliation of Bank Accounts and Company Credit Cards
- Assistance with other financial reporting and audit requirements, including but not limited to:
- Data required for reports complied by the Financial Advisor in advance of Board Meetings
- Reports on Company Projects as required for budget monitoring and grant acquittals
- Data and reports towards completion of The Company’s annual audit process and other obligations
