Art Gallery Artwork Stretcher

Kate Owen Gallery is looking for a casual artwork stretcher for 1-2 days per week

• Casual, between 1 to 2 days/week, Tuesdays + Wednesdays
• $35-$40 / hour incl. casual loading (based on experience) + super
• Onsite at our gallery in Rozelle, in the inner west of Sydney

Kate Owen Gallery is a multiple award-winning commercial gallery specialising in contemporary Aboriginal art. Located in Rozelle, our diverse range of styles are ethically sourced from Indigenous Australian artists and Community Art Centres across the country. We are seeking a physically strong person who is good with their hands to join our cheerful team as an Art Gallery Framer.

You will

• build timber frames
• stretch our artworks on them
• get them ready-to-hang for our clients
• assist with preparation for exhibitions.

This means you are

• great with your hands
• able to operate a Mitre saw and a nail gun
• strong enough to lift and carry timber
• able to work independently
• reliable.

We will train you, but expect good spoken English, a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and support our team for this role.
