Founded in 1989 by Bruce Applebaum and Paul Dyer, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra (ABO) celebrates the music of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, and performs such works as they were intended to be heard – played on the instruments of the day.
‘25 years ago, Bruce Applebaum and I started an orchestra – a period instrument orchestra with gut strings, wooden flutes and valve-less natural horns and trumpets,’ said Artistic Director Paul Dyer AO.
