Breakthrough on artists’ fees with local blockbuster
A major show of local artists offers big bucks for the arts economy, with the uptake of recommended artists' fees and some opportunities for performers too.

Melbourne Now is set to open on 22 November across NGV Australia and NGV International occupying some 8,000m2. NGV says it is the largest initiative ever undertaken by the Gallery.
The Gallery recently announced a list of participating artists and creatives, a pool of talent extending beyond 300, many of whom are making newly commissioned artworks for the exhibition. Within that pool there are 175 solo presentations or special projects by artists.
