Light artist Bruce Ramus has constructed a Helix Tree that is lit and modulated by the power of voices from dusk all through June.
Imagine this: a tree of 21 curved steel beams rising 13 metres from a reflective water pond into the winter sky in Federation Square, its overlapping and intertwining strands fitted with 1.5 kms of LED lights that respond to the human voice, changing colour and intensity as they respond in real time to changing pitches and volume from the sounds beneath.
