A Sydney stage production developed by African-Australian performers as an exploration of overcoming violence has received a helping hand from the Australian Government.

The Minister for the Status of Women, Julie Collins, and Member for Parramatta, Julie Owens, yesterday met with the African-Australian performance collective behind The Baulkham Hills African Ladies Troupe to provide around $140,000 of financial assistance to ensure their stories can be brought to life on stage.
