Musicians took to the steps of Parliament House last week to protest the 3.5 per cent funding cuts to Arts Victoria – cuts that they say highlight the Baillieu Government’s lack of support for grass roots community arts and cultural activities.

The Melbourne Jazz Co-Op – made up of 12 music groups – is the latest face the chopping block, with vital funding withdrawn on the occasion of its 30th birthday as part of the overall budget cuts.
