Ten o’clock on a Saturday morning, Day 2 of the Melbourne Writers Festival, is for some of us a difficult time to be in the city, sitting in a darkened theatre at ACMI ready to listen to a literary great. It’s also, some of us might think, a difficult time to be drinking red wine – but when the writer in question is Booker Prize winner DBC Pierre perhaps people expect it.
