Melbourne based artist Jon Cattapan has won the Bulgari Art Award, worth $80,000, for his work Imagine a Raft (Hard Rubbish 4+5) 2012, a triptych painted over a five year period.
The annual awards recognise contemporary Australian painting by mid-career artists. The Art Gallery of NSW will acquire the winning painting for its collection.
