Does Brisbane really need a new Lyric Theatre?

A new Lyric Theatre, seating 1,500 patrons, is expected to be built as part of Destination Brisbane Consortium’s winning bid for the redevelopment of Queen’s Wharf, with works to begin in 2017. But some members of the arts community suggest a smaller venue would better suit the needs of the Brisbane theatre sector.
