Designing a new future for the NGV

The National Gallery of Victoria’s triennial plans could see architecture and design woven permanently into the gallery's fabric.

The success of the Melbourne Now exhibition and new plans to for an international triennial will see cross disciplinary practice including architecture and design further implanted in the gallery’s overall makeup. 

It seems clear that the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) has changed course. While still keeping the shores of traditional art practice in sight, its move to incorporate architecture and design not only in its Melbourne Now exhibition, but now as part of its inaugural triennial, will see both forms celebrated further.
