Cultural precinct site sold off for tax office

The Central Coast community of Gosford is furious that part of a promised cultural precinct has been replaced by commercial development.

The NSW Government announced last week that it would sell waterfront land from the former Gosford school site to a developer to build new premises for the Australian Tax Offices (ATO).

The Government had previously promised the Gosford City Council that the site, described by NSW Minister for Planning Robert Stokes as ‘absolutely critical’ to the city’s development, would form part of an arts and entertainment precinct including a ​regional ​performing ​arts ​centre and conservatorium.
