For the eighth year, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is opening applications for their Funny Tonne competition. The competitors will be racing to see how many acts they can see in the 25 comedy-packed days of MICF.

Three comedy lovers have the opportunity to grab a special season pass, granting them entrance to acts across the program. They’ll have to come up with their own strategy (and possibly excuses to get out of work) to make it to as many shows as possible. The 2011 winner Kath Dolgehuy managed to get in 145 shows in the month, working out to over 5 shows a day, taking the record for the highest number out of any competitor to take part.
