Written by Brisbane-based Amy Bell, a playwright with a penchant for tickling funny-bones as well as spilling blood, the latest production from JUTE Theatre Company promises to provide Cairns theatre-goers with an immersive and engaging night of entertainment. Upon entering the theatre space at the Centre of Contemporary Arts, audience members will be given a wooden stool, and invited to sit wherever they like: as close to the action as they’re comfortable. Given the dark themes explored in the work, it’s entirely likely some attendees may prefer to sit as far away from the actors as they can.
