The biennial Kristian Fredirikson Scholarship for Design in the Performing Arts awards an Australian professional performing arts designer or maker $10,000 to study overseas.

The scholarship serves a dual purpose, both creating professional development opportunities for the recipient and raising the international profile of Australian performing arts design. It was created as an ongoing memorial for the late Kristian Fredrikson one of Australia’s most celebrated theatrical designers. Fredrikson’s distinguished 40-year career included ballet, opera, contemporary dance, theatre film and television.
