Stefano Carboni is used to dealing with crisis; he’s used to presenting a case to counter negative perceptions.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia’s Director – formerly Curator of Islamic Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York (1992-2008) – was transporting an exhibition of rare Islamic glass from the Corning Museum of Glass (USA) for an exhibition he’d co-curated, when 9/11 happened.
