Venue Manager

Do you have experience managing and coordinating venues? This unique role incorporates general and technical venue knowledge in a School environment.
The Role:
The primary function of the Venue Manager role is to manage, coordinate, and maintain key Carey event spaces.
The Venue Manager will oversee and coordinate the key School venues and provide support for specified School venues. The venue spaces are used for a variety of events, such as assemblies, information nights, student plays and productions. The Venue Manager has responsibility of facilitating set-up, bump and sound and lighting for these events.
The Venue Manager will work closely with our Performing Arts and Property teams to ensure smooth operations and oversight. The role will also provide technical assistance to staff, students and venue users to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.
This position is a full-time, permanent role based at our Kew campus and reports to the Director – Finance & Operations.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in venue management
- Exposure and understanding of safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment required in theatre production
- Previous experience in using Microsoft Office software
- Victorian Driver’s licence
- Rigging/Elevated Working Platform Ticket (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of rigging, theatrical lighting and sounds systems, and digital projection including CCTV is an advantage
This role is required to maintain a flexible schedule as duties will be required out of usual business hours including evenings, nights and weekends.
A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
