Stewardship & Reporting Coordinator

The MSO is looking for a Stewardship & Reporting Coordinator to join our Development team.

About the MSO 

Established in 1906 the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is not only Australia’s oldest orchestra, but one of the country’s most forward-looking major arts institutions. It currently engages over 2.5 million people through live and recorded broadcasts and performs live to more than 300,000 people annually, in concerts ranging from performances at its home, Hamer Hall at Arts Centre Melbourne, to its annual free concerts at Melbourne’s largest outdoor venue, the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The MSO presents innovative and engaging programs to audiences of all ages across Victoria through its outreach, education, and community initiatives. 

About the role

The Stewardship and Reporting Coordinator is an integral member of the Development team, supporting the delivery of the MSO’s fundraising program across donor stewardship, reporting, gift administration and Development data.

Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, the role coordinates Patron renewals and supporter stewardship, donor and funder reporting, gift processing and accurate record-keeping, helping to ensure supporters are recognised appropriately, reporting commitments are met, and the Development team has the reliable information and processes needed to manage fundraising income and relationships effectively.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong organisation and attention to detail with meaningful relationship-building, while contributing directly to the success and sustainability of one of Australia’s leading arts organisations.

Full-time, ongoing position Offering $85-90,000 + superannuation per annum, based on experience.

The successful applicant will possess the following:

 Knowledge and Demonstrated Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor services, grants administration, reporting
  • Experience coordinating donor renewals, stewardship activities, acknowledgements and supporter communications, with a high level of accuracy
  • Experience using a fundraising, ticketing or customer relationship management systems
  • Experience preparing reports, reconciling information and working with financial or fundraising data

Skills Required

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and fixed deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy across data, reporting, communications and administration
  • Strong written, interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with donors, funders and internal stakeholders
  • Strong numeracy, spreadsheet and systems capability, including the ability to maintain CRM data, analyse information, identify discrepancies and prepare accurate reports
  • Sound judgement, discretion and adaptability, with a collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Desirable

  • Experience in a not-for-profit, cultural, arts, membership-based or philanthropic organisation
  • Experience using Tessitura
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for classical or orchestral music
