Senior Theatre Technician (Audiovisual)

The Events Centre is looking for a Senior Theatre Technician (Audiovisual) to deliver AV technical services across live performance and events.

Deliver high-quality audio and visual technical services across live performances and events at the leading Sunshine Coast performing arts centre. This role is ideal for an experienced live production technician who thrives under pressure, takes ownership, and delivers consistent, professional outcomes across a diverse program.

Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll operate professional audio and video systems, supervise bump in and outs, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure every show runs smoothly. You’ll mentor technicians, support planning and documentation, and contribute to maintaining venue systems and standards.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in live production AV
• Strong digital audio console experience (music + theatre)
• Proven skills in video, switching, cameras, streaming
• Confident with QLab, PowerPoint/Keynote, basic networking
• Can read technical plans and solve problems fast
• Available for weekends, nights, public holidays
