Senior Theatre Technician (Audiovisual)

The Events Centre is looking for a Senior Theatre Technician (Audiovisual) to deliver AV technical services across live performance and events.

Based at The Events Centre, the Sunshine Coast’s leading performing arts centre, you’ll help deliver a diverse program of shows and events and help every production look and sound its best.

Responsibilities:

You’ll take a senior hands-on role delivering high-quality audio and visual technical services for live performances, events and venue activity. You’ll operate professional audio and video systems, solve technical issues, support other team members, contribute to planning and documentation, and help keep venue systems safe, reliable and show ready.

Requirements:

We’re looking for an experienced AV professional with the skills below. If you don’t tick every box but believe you’d be a strong fit, we’d still like to hear from you.

• Hands-on experience in live production AV, ideally in performance, theatre or event environments.
• Confidence operating digital audio consoles across music, theatre, presentations and events.
• Practical experience with video systems, including switching, cameras, projection, playback and streaming.
• Comfort using tools such as QLab, PowerPoint or Keynote, with basic networking and signal flow knowledge.
• Ability to read technical plans, communicate clearly and stay steady when plans change.
• Availability to work live event hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
