First Nations First is pillar one of the Australian Government’s National Cultural Policy, Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place. Under Revive we will establish a dedicated First Nations-led Board to:

  • Invest in, create and produce, First Nations works of scale, with priorities and funding decisions determined by First Nations leaders,
  • Develop a First Nations Creative Workforce Development Strategy, and
  • Promote best practice cultural protocols, self-determination and cultural safety training across arts and cultural organisations.

Your role

As our Project Officer, Strategic Initiatives, you will support the development and delivery of First Nations Arts Strategic Initiatives through project and contract management, liaison with stakeholders and maintaining accurate data and effective and proactive reporting.

What you’ll be doing

  • Drafting project plans, proposals, briefings, and reports to support First Nations Arts Strategic Initiatives and other designated programs

 

  • Leading the end-to-end administration of applications and investments, developing and tracking contracts through the application management system

 

  • Triaging all requests for strategic initiatives to support a diverse range of stakeholders, including liaison with First Nations artists and arts organisations, providing exceptional advice, applying arts practice expertise, accessibility and cultural safety in line with First Nations protocols

 

  • Monitoring budgets and expenditure related to project delivery, providing updates, reports and executive briefs for the Director First Nations Strategic Initiatives and Executive Director First Nations

 

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver First Nations Events, managing logistics and administrative tasks

 

  • Coordinating and collate the evaluation of projects, measuring and reporting on the value of Creative Australia projects to arts organisations and the wider arts sector and industry

 

  • Maintaining accurate data in Creative Australia’s databases and systems, ensuring digital records are maintained according to policies and procedures, including but not limited to Board induction and Terms of Appointments
