NAS is seeking a highly organised and experienced individual to provide administrative and operational support to the CEO.

Our campus is located on Gadigal land in central Sydney, within the historic sandstone walls of what was once the Darlinghurst Gaol and is now one of the nation’s premier art institutions where many of Australia’s leading artists having studied and taught. The National Art School (NAS) is Australia’s leading independent art school, dedicated to exceptional, studio-based art education and shaping contemporary art practice.  

NAS is accredited through TEQSA and offers Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours), Masters and Doctorate courses. The School is at the forefront of learning, creativity and innovative practice utilising its independent identity and distinctive studio-based teaching model to deliver exceptional higher education and research, scholarship and professional practice.    

The position

To provide Executive administrative support to the CEO, ensuring effective coordination of priorities, communication and workflow to contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the National Art School.

What you bring to the role

You bring strong executive support capability, demonstrated through your ability to manage complex diaries, competing priorities and fast‑moving schedules with confidence and discretion. Your judgement in triaging correspondence, handling confidential information and anticipating the CEO’s needs ensures the Executive Office runs smoothly and the CEO’s time is used effectively.

Your communication strengths allow you to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the CEO and NAS with professionalism and warmth. You produce high‑quality written materials and confidently use AI‑enabled tools to enhance efficiency, including drafting correspondence, summarising documents and managing information workflows in line with policy and ethical guidelines.

You also bring strong operational capability to coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, briefing materials, collating papers, organising follow-up actions and project work. You maintain accurate systems, uphold privacy requirements and model NAS values. Your adaptability and attention to detail ensure the Executive Office remains responsive, reliable and aligned with organisational priorities.
