Literacy levels in India are still rising, and along with the the parallel existence of old and new country, paper books are still purchased at a rate equal to their digital counterparts. The lucrative industry has brought national and regional book festivals into fruition around the country and, combined with competitive pricing, is still making more and more Indians aware of the joy of reading.
According to the Frankfurt Book Fair, India’s publishing industry was resting on a growth rate of 15 per cent and was estimated to be worth around $2 billion.
