Duncan Foster migrated to Australia from England at age 6 with his Aunt, Uncle and their family. A composer, educator. bassist and project/musical director, he studied music at LaTrobe University and recently completed a research degree in Music and Community Development at Victoria University.

He was employed as full time Music Coordinator at Footscray Community Arts Centre for over a decade and was Musical Director for projects including Heartland Mix (Big West 2009), Thieu Phu Nam Xuong (contemporary Vietnamese opera), The Colour of Water (Multicultural Murga), Our Back Yard, The Multicultural Choir and other projects.
