For 750 hours, celebrity performance artist Marina Abramović sat in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA, New York) directly engaging with the public in eye-to-eye contact. The title of the 2010 exhibition, the artist is present, was a declaration of her unwavering commitment to her audience. And, for performance art groupies, that meant you were guaranteed to see Marina.
