VIC budget injects $78.7 million of new funding into creative industries

Aboriginal festivals and events across Victoria will be supported with a $1 million investment as part of new initiatives in the 2018-19 state budget.

Unveiled on Tuesday 1 May, the 2018-19 Victorian budget will inject an addition $78.7 million into the arts and culture sector.

The budget includes $1 million to implement the Creative Victoria First Peoples Plan, to support Aboriginal festivals and events across the state, and provide more opportunities for Aboriginal Victorians to work in the creative industries.
