With the help of music discovery service We Are Hunted, social networking site Twitter has announced that it will launch a standalone music app by the end of this month.

Features of the app include giving personal music recommendations to users based on the artists the user follows on Twitter, and the musical artists the user’s followers also follow. Titled Twitter Music, the app will stream music through SoundCloud and will feature four tabs – one for recommending music, one which lists links to songs tweeted by followers, another which lists songs that are trending on the music app and a final one which lists up-and-coming artists featured on We Are Hunted.
