The visual arts is more popular than football; the international arts market is 150 times bigger than the Australian market; and 2 million Australians engage in crafts compared to 1.2 million engaged with Twitter. In fact, more Australians are creating visual arts and crafts than any other type of art.

These are just some of the facts about visual arts released in a new report from the Australia Council titled Art Facts: Visual Arts, which provides the latest statistics on visual arts creation, global trade, industry, support and participation.
