An online survey of craft practitioners released by the National Craft Initiative today has found galleries and exhibitions account for 39% of craft sales and another 23% happen at markets.
But online sales (18%) have overtaken shops (11%) as the next most popular selling outlets. Old-fashioned word-of-mouth has clearly lost out to online communication, providing just 7% of sales.
