Hobart City council has approved the construction of a public art installation honouring gay rights activists.

The installation, created by artist Justy Phillips, features two illuminated boxes, which will be embedded in the footpath adjacent to Parliament House in Salamanca place. The works will contain words lit from behind – words that won’t be revealed until the installation has been completed.
