Twelve programming positions are to be cut at Arts Centre Melbourne, with more jobs expected to be lost in other departments, including commercial operations and production, as the organisation faces what is predicted to be a massive budget blow-out.

The popular Spiegeltent season, which has run on the Arts Centre’s forecourt for several years, and which this year featured some 75 different acts, including both touring and local circus acts, cabaret and musicians, has also been cancelled as a cost-cutting measure.
