Established by AJZ Productions, with support from the Port Adelaide-Enfield Council, the True North – Youth Theatre Ensemble aims to provide young people aged 8 – 17 with an affordable, social, collaborative and safe place in which they will be able to express themselves while learning performance skills and practices.

AJZ Productions’ Artistic Director, Alirio Zavarce, who began his own performance career in a youth ensemble, said that the project was sparked by his realisation that Adelaide’s northern suburbs lacked opportunities for creatively-minded children and teenagers.
