New technology is constantly revolutionizing how we make art. The latest advance is a handheld 3D device by LIX, launched last week via the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, a kind of ‘magic wand’ that allows you to draw in space.

LIX 3D printing pen has a hot-end nozzle that is power supplied from a USB 3.0 port, which melts and cools a plastic filament that allows you to create rigid and freestanding structures. After turning it on the LIX takes less than a minute to heat up and you’re ready to start creating vertical illustrations.
